About
A Nova Scotia company serving all of Canada
Northgrade Technologies was founded by Scott Casey, who has worked in CAD since 1998, starting with 3D models for CNC manufacturing. He earned a diploma in Geomatics Engineering from COGS in 2003 and has since worked in CAD across the engineering and civil construction industries.
Scott has also owned and operated an excavation company, so he knows bidding and job costing from the contractor's side of the table. That experience shapes both our drafting work and the software we're building.
We work remotely with clients from coast to coast, in Atlantic time with flexible hours for western clients.

Common questions about our drafting and machine control work
What do you need to start a machine control model?
The design drawings (CAD files are best, PDFs work), the survey control or site calibration, and which machine control system your equipment runs. We build the model to your survey and deliver it in your system's format.
Which machine control systems do you support?
Trimble, Topcon and Leica, plus LandXML for other systems. Models can be split into subgrade, finished grade and utility layers for dozers, graders and excavators.
Do you work with clients outside Nova Scotia?
Yes. We're based in the Halifax region and work remotely with contractors, surveyors and engineers across Canada. Files move by email or a shared folder.
Do you stamp or seal drawings?
No. We produce the drafting, models and takeoffs; your engineer or land surveyor reviews and seals the work. That keeps responsibility where it belongs and lets your office move faster.
